The Versatile Blogger Award Goes To…

The Versatile Blogger Award

A few months ago, I received an award from ElizOF called The Versatile Blogger Award. I was happy and excited. Then 3 days ago, I received the same award from Life is a bowl of kibble. I felt ecstatic. To be recognized by another talented Blogger is an honor. It’s one of those moments when I could say, ” I must be doing something right. That I am making a difference to somebody else.” The feeling itself is beyond words but if I have to choose one word it would be, “fulfillment.”

Remember what Spiderman‘s uncle told him, ” with power comes  great responsibility?” Well, the award kind of has a catch but in a good way. It comes with rules which we do need to follow if we want to pass on the legacy of this recognition. Are you ready? Here goes…

First, thank and link to the person  who nominated you. So, with all my heart, I thank Elizabeth of Mirth and Motivation  at http://eof737.wordpress.com and Life is a bowl of kibble at http://lifeisabowlofkibble.wordpress.com . To both of you, I’m overjoyed for such an acknowledgement. I can’t thank you enough for such a sweet and generous gesture. I’m blushing as we speak.

Second, share seven random facts about you. Now, I normally would rather talk about other people but then rules are rules.

About Me

1. I start my day with a regular coffee mix with Skinny Caramel Macchiato flavored creamer top with a low-fat whipped cream. The first 30 minutes when I wake up, I’m like a zombie. Caffeine perks me up. I can drink a cold coffee, I don’t care as long as it’s not decaf.

2. I’m hyperactive at work. Sometimes my co-workers would tell me to sit but once I’m wired-up, I had to move otherwise I get restless. Moving helps me think, makes me feel like I can do anything. In the E.R., you need loads of energy to last a 12 hour shift. I got lots of those and I don’t need Red Bull to have wings.

3. The one thing I look forward to at the end of the day, is a hug and a kiss from my son. His kiss doesn’t come often. So, I made a game called, “10 kisses.” The player who gives the quickest 10 kisses wins. He loves to win. Guess who’s getting all the butterfly kisses?

4. I’m a fan of my wife’s cooking. Anything she cooks taste like a chef’s gourmet dish. My favorite is chicken ” Adobo,” a traditional Filipino cuisine that reminds me of home where ever I may be.

5. I love the beach. A lot of my memorable Summer adventures with my family involved the Sun, sea and sand.

6. I’m a Blog addict. Shocker, huh? I develop withdrawal symptoms if I miss a day without checking the Blogging world. What are the symptoms? It’ll be on my future post. I’m not even sure if it’s a true diagnosis or just a fabrication of my mind. Ha, ha, ha…

7. My favorite memory is when my wife smiled at me at the school’s stairway before we were formally introduced by a friend. I can’t forget that moment because my heart pounded so strongly that I thought it’s about to burst. She missed a step and I was ready to catch her.

Third and most important rule. Pass this award to five new blogging friends. Contact and congratulate them for getting such an award. It’s like a “Pay Forward” concept but I would like to think of it as making meaningful connections and valuing friendships.

Now, since I got two. I’m going to choose ten since I’m entitled for 5 each. If I’m to make the rule, I will have everyone on my blogroll. For those that I may miss, I have two other awards that I’m trying to finish. Hopefully I got to include most if not all by the time I’m done. I feel bad when I miss out anyone. The list is of equal footing. No first place , no 10th place. Every blogger is unique and special in his/her own way.

I goal is to really have people look into this Blogs as well as the links. There’s so much to know and discover in all of them. I’m happy that finally I finished one. I still owe 2 more for those who nominated me. Wish me luck . Have a fun weekend.

I instantly became your fan after I stumbled with your beautiful posts that I cant help myself but to drop by at your site often.I love the way you give life at every entry you have in your site and so the photos embedded on it.They were all vivid and bright and from that I concluded that there’s a real artist in you thus I say your worthy of that “versatile blogger award”..

When I found out that I’m at the list of your choices for the same award I almost exclaimed a shout of joy but I forced myself to dampen my excitement since I’m at the computer shop full of people and for sure they would give me a crazy or maybe an annoying look for the disturbance..Now I see the worth of my blog being admired and recognized by another versatile and intelligent blogger.I’m sure you know how it feels..I may not receive a money from blogging but this recognition is too much for me to continue what I have started even it means staying long at the com -shop to do blogs..hehehehe..I feel so inspired..=) thanks IT so much….
I’ll find time checking those blogs you mentioned above..=)

  17. Just woke up my friends. Guess what came first before my usual coffee? Yep, it’s reading the comments and watching the beautiful faces on ” likes.” I felt the biggest prize of all- Friendship, priceless, treasured friendship. When I finished the post this early morning, I felt that my brain was drained. I tried as much to describe each of the 10 but you can’t really put in several words how wonderful their blogs are. The hardest of it all was having to choose that 10 bloggers. To me this award is for all. Everyone is versatile for the fact that each of their post holds its story and message day after day, week after week. I don’t know where this award originated but I thought it missed a fourth rule, which is, ” list your constant, suppportive blogger friends and initiate a way to extend that friendship to others.” Thus the added links. Once again, thank you. I’ll be having a fun weekend reading, answering your comments and visiting your blogs. Update me of how many new friends you met. Next award is the Liebster award. This I have to crack my head again. A great weekend to all. Stay blessed my friends, live life, be happy, embrace love and nurture it.

Wow! I can hardly believe that you added my site on here. Thank you so much! Is the Versatile Blogger Award supposed to be just an acknowledgement from those 2 bloggers? It’s not an actual award is it? What are you asking of me? Should I post such an entry on my site?

When I start my morning, I brush my teeth, comb my hair, wash my face, eat breakfast, and then my day officially begins. I do not eat or drink any stimulants to get me going. That will just cause problems later in my life. I probably will never drink coffee. I don’t like the taste of it myself. When I am at school, I sometimes doze off on boring lectures. When I am at the computer, I am always staring at the screen. I have to check my email at least twice a day, and I read blogs a few times a week. I feel kind of bad that I almost never read anybody else’s blogs but yours. You gave me more of a reason to blog more often.

    • jhirzel88 says:

Oh wait, I realized that you got 2 awards, only because those 2 bloggers were required to pick 5 bloggers to receive that award. Each blogger from those 5 bloggers chooses 5 more bloggers. That’s 25 bloggers and counting. Then those 25 bloggers have to choose 5 more bloggers, making 125 bloggers…and so on, and so on. It won’t take too long before more people start nominating you, that is, once those bloggers keep spreading the award around.

Honestly, I don’t know where this originated, I’ve yet to research. I got a Liebster award, that one suppose to have originated in Germany. But wherever they came from, the goal is to make more friends, discover more blogs, it makes our big world seems smaller and more reachable. Within our circle I mean. Try checking those links and how it goes. Anything is possible…Have a fun Sunday.. I had dimsum with friends today. it was a blast to see faces that seems to look the same for the past 20 years. They are all amazing in their own way. some are great with words, others with photos, others on both, while most I would say gives a lot of beautiful, encouraging comment that I look forward in reading everyday. My friend, I’m giving you a key, and all will open new doors and friendship for you. H’m. Sharing with me the award is a real HONOR. It’s The Island Traveler on the spotlight here yet you made me feel like I am with you there. Haha … Seriously, this is humbling experience for me. Maraming maraming salamat!

God bless you and your wonderful family.

    p.s.

Regards to your buddy little boy and wife.

    • Thank you, thank you, thank you. If I collect all the wonderful quotes and comments I got from you, I can probably make one post out of it. But as I said before, I’d rather not talk about me thus I tried as much as I can to describe each blogger I nominated. I don’t think the rule requires them but I want to do it anyway. And honestly, I already consider you guys as friends in the blogging world. ” ka-tropa,” if you will. It’s so funny cause last night my classmates and town mates gathered after a birthday party. A few Quervos and chicken wings later, my wife told everyone that I blog. They were so surprised. I kept it a secret because I don’t want to be the topic of conversation during our gatherings. But the cat is out of the bag and they started passing around my latest post on weekly photo challenge: faces, I felt happy but at the same time a bit embarrassed , its not my nature to show-off, but since they are my friends too, they might as well share my life’s passions.
So, Bro, this award now is all about you, what you do with it I’m sure you’re going to brew something magical. You have the gift to write, you are just as passionate about what you do, you care about the environment and you dearly love your family. So many great attributes I could think of, it will boil down to how amazing you can be. I’m excited to read the post you’re going to make out of it. Congratulations again. You deserve the honor my friend. God bless you too and your family.
