Passion In Life

What makes you feel alive? What inspires you and keeps you motivated? What or who moves you to experience emotions of love, happiness and excitement? What are your interests that brings about contentment, fullness and positive enthusiasm? These are just a few of the many passions that we have in our lives. Passions that keeps us going day after day. Passions that make us appreciate our humanity. Passions that celebrates the blessings we have everyday and help us find our bliss.

I am happiest when I am with the people I love. Meeting a Lego Dragon at Downtown Disney was a fun surprise because I have someone to share it with.

I am passionate about a lot things but these are my top favorites.

I am passionate about…

My family, traveling and discovering places, making adventures, loving more, being one and close to Nature, to capture beautiful moments in photographs and making lasting memories, finding happiness and peace, create lasting friendship, making a difference in my work and community, bringing comfort and joy to others, to write with freedom, to grow in my faith and overcome my personal darkness, to find true “meaning and purpose” in this life.

Adventure is where fate takes us.

Dancing is a passion too. Not just mine. Okay, may be a bit when nobody’s watching.

My world revolves around my family. My wife who stands by me in all my life’s journey and my son who showed me the joys and excitement of everyday’s adventure. Then I have my parents who continues to support and nurture my dreams wherever those dreams would take me. Not to be out done are my five sisters who despite of being separated from me by physical distance continues to cherish that bond of love, respect and friendship we all knew since childhood. Every time we see each other, it’s like going back in time, of being young without worries in the world. A time of pure happiness. A time where we laughed and had fun to our heart’s content.

After feasting on lobster and crabs at Fulton’s in Downtown Disney, we sat at the outdoor deck overlooking the lake with the glowing light bulbs above our heads. It was a night of magic. Magic brought about by having a family to celebrate life and its moments.

One of my passion is food. Delicious, mouth-watering food. As I ate the lobster and the snow crab legs, I kept telling my wife, “Oh, my gosh, this is so good!”

Lego race. We didn’t win but we felt like winners for so many reasons.

It is more beautiful when at the end of the race, someone is there waiting for us, win or lose.

There is no limit to having more family members that matters. For the past few weeks, I am blessed to have my in-laws in my home together with my wife’s brother. For the first time, my son had a sleep over with his grand parents and my wife’s brother. I smiled when I saw him place his sleeping bag between the bed of his grandparents and his uncle. I added more pillows making sure he was comfortable. Before leaving the room, I looked at him and I saw a twinkle of joy in his eyes.

My son with his grandparents heading to Salt Lick in Driftwood Texas. The times he spent with them is a priceless memory.

Today, my wife helped her parents pack some of their stuff. In less than a week, they will head back home. Much as we are happy that we had a borrowed time with them, it saddens us that once again we will feel a void that only a family’s love can ever fill.

Some passions you can recognize immediately. Your love and passion for your family is very inspiring. It shows basic values, love, joy, peace, gentleness and kindness and long suffering. Yes your passions fulfill the fruit of the spirit.

    • Every smile and joy has an accompanying tear and human suffering and struggle. Passion is both happiness and pain, heartaches and love enduring. It is being “human.” Thanks Francine.

  2. Gilly Gee says:

So cool, and I think you should dance as if no one is watching!

  3. Thank you for sharing your passions; I too feel passionate, almost territorial, about my family. My daughters are all grown and have moved away to start their own families. This has added to our family by seven grandchildren, and now we are the grandparents vying for a bit of time. Enjoy every minute of every day with them – they grow up fast.

  4. I like your passions and your commitment to family

  5. Madhu says:

Your passions shine through in every post and every happy family shot 🙂

  6. I agree with Madhu; your passions do shine through, and your love for your family shows in every paragraph that you write.

Passions; hmmmm, do I feel passionate about anything? For sure! This will be another fun one, but for now I have to get back to one of my passions – gardening; my shovel awaits!

    Thanks, Lisa/Z

  18. I love it that your family is your passion. Thanks for sharing your lovely family photos. Here’s one of my passions – knitting for charity

    • My friend, your passion is of pure kind. It is a reflection of a caring, giving, generous heart that hopes to make this world a better place for those who can not even afford basic needs like clothing and simple comforts of being warm on a cold night. Your passion will flourish and bear fruit through the Lily foundation and many more. Your passion is something I wish to develop in my heart as well and I hope our readers will feel the same. Best wishes to you and your family. Thank you.

  21. Deborah the Closet Monster says:

I love all your posts, but I am especially grateful for this one. I’m starting to feel a little anxious about the prospect of marriage, but this reminds me it’s a blessing, not a sentence.

    • Deborah the Closet Monster says:

. . . and by “sentence,” I mean “sentance.” Marriage is definitely not akin to a sentence. 🙂

      • I’m speechless for a few seconds. So much love, goodness, kindness of family and strangers. Yes, we may have our bad days like the frustrating coffee shop incident but when we look at our blessings, we are humbled and realize how lucky we are. You have a beautiful family.Your son, your future husband and yes, future mother-in-law will light up your world with love, joy and hope. I am happy for you. Marriage has its ups and downs. But what matters is when things get rough, two souls will be a courage and strength for each other. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful post…

    • Yes, marriage should be a blessing and not a sentence for life…ha, ha, ha!

  25. Arindam says:

Bro it’s so true that, now we have to live our lives with that void, which only a family member can fill. We have to leave our home, family and friends on order to purse our dream, to earn more so that we can give our family members a much more comfortable life. But at the end of the day, there is always a sadness there behind the fake smiles we always keep on our face, there is a emptiness in all of our hearts although we spend most of the time among few other people.
Very heart touching post bro. Have a great day!

  26. Tammy says:

I have just nominated you for an award… stop by and get all the details 🙂

    • As I read the words, I heard the Cuban singer’s voice, echoing through the air as the beat of the music pulsates with the most spellbinding rhythm. Music is passion so is the gift to savor what the moment, the culture and the experience has to offer. Passion is about making an unforgettable comes to like with images and words. Passion is you and this post. Thanks for sharing a beautiful Cuban night of magic.

  34. Freedomborn says:

Thank you IT for sharing your Passions, although I did have a good idea, you share them often in your Photography and words. I’m also a very passionate person and very demonstrative, there is no need to guess how I feel, some say I’m over the top but I like your expression … Passionate and my first Passion is The Lord in everything He is and does, my second is people and thirdly God’s creation in all other things, perhaps you noticed how much I love animals and landscapes, beaches, flowers, sunsets, sunrises etc and yes God’s gift of food, I’m very thankful for all of God’s blessings and may He bless you IT in all you are and will be.

Christian Love from both of us – Anne.

    • Beautiful my friend. I always knew God and his love is your passion. Your blog celebrates Gods blessings to all of us everyday and for that I wish to thank you. You and Ron are an inspiration. When I made this post, I also remembered the passion of Christ who loved us so much that he allowed himself to suffer and die so we can all be saved. The greatest passion of all. Have a blessed day my friend. Thanks.

  35. Ron says:

Thanks Island Traveller, this journey is life, life always teaching us, reminding us, showing us, each day brings to us heart images ! passion.

  36. This one was like birthing a child! I present to you one of my greatest passions:

    • Wow, Z! Every image is a celebration of your passion for nature and the bliss it brings into your life. The world needs more people like you who takes into heart a genuine desire to take care of mother nature as well as bring nature into an Art form that others will find inspiration. This I also experience when close to nature, “When home on the river, I awaken with a profound awareness of nature . “Beautiful post my friend.

I have had problems with WordPress since last wednesday will try to post challenge soon.

    • Thanks for dropping by. I hope you’ll find solution with your problem soon. A few months ago, I had a problem too where my blog would slow down , then shut down. I figured the problem. It was having too much post showing up at the same time. So I narrowed it to three in my settings and it’s been running fast since then.

IT, your passions are pure, joyful, sincere, and full of love. Two years ago today was my wedding, and I am bubbling over with passion for my husband and our family. I hope you enjoy these, and continue to cherish your wife…she is your good thing!!
    God Bless!

    • I am speachless! I got carried away by the loving and beautiful thoughts your have for your family and your God who blessed you with a wonderful husband and an adorable child. Happy Anniversary to you and your husband. I think celebrating wedding anniveries should be a passion for all couples. It is a great way to celebrate the love that started it all and celebrate a priceless gift and blessing from our God who showed us what love is all about. I would like to share your words today, “Because of him I am a wife and a mother. Because of him I have an earthly sense of the unconditional love God has for me. He is my spiritual head, my rock and my support. He is more than I could’ve asked for. He celebrates the woman I was created to be.” So pure. So full of love. Thanks Patrecia.

Your passion for your family shines through every post! Lovely
Mine is a very late entry:

    • Music is food for the soul and to be passionate about it is one of the most beautiful qualities that anyone could ever have. Just like you, “I turn to music for inspiration when I’m at my wit’s end, for refuge when I down and for strength when I’m troubled.” Music soothes our heart aches, it sets the mood for love, happiness and serenity that we all long for. Thanks for sharing your amazing passion. Best wishes.
